ActiSense EMU-1 converts your analogue engines to be NMEA2000 compatible
The ActiSense EMU-1 allows older analogue inboard engines to be connected to NMEA2000 compatible Multifunction Displays. This means that without having to update your engine, you are still able to use the latest technologies.
The NMEA2000 adapter converts information from analogue engine senders into NMEA2000 compatible information, allowing display devices to monitor the engine information. Capable of measuring a wide Range of engine parameters, the EMU-1 reports how the engine is operating and shares the information across the network, including engine revs, which hasn't been achievable with analogue engines.
The EMU-1 simplifies processes and reduces the number of input/output wires required at each engine. It also supports the conversion of analogue transmission parameters and battery status to the associated NMEA 2000 PGN's. The EMU-1 is compatible with all certified NMEA 2000 devices that can display the PGNs the EMU-1 outputs.
The EMU-1 has a PC based configuration tool that allows the settings inside the EMU-1 to be changed to best suit the engine it is working with, making it a flexible solution for many engine makes and models.
It is recommended that an Actisense NGT-1 NMEA 2000 PC Interface is used for every EMU-1 installation. The NGT-1 can be used to update the Firmware, connect the Configuration Tool and display data on a PC for diagnostic and information purposes, using NMEA Reader. This tool requires a NGT-1 for configuring the EMU-1 directly on the NMEA 2000 bus. The NGT-1 connects a PC to a NMEA 2000 bus. Always ensure that you have the latest configuration tool which can be found in the Downloads section of the ActiSense website.
In the future, two engine instances will be supported by a single EMU-1, though the initial release of the EMU-1 is limited to supporting only one engine.
