Navigation Lights

The positioning and technical requirements of navigation lights installed on recreational boats are required to comply with The International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972; commonly known as COLREGS. The local Marine Safety Authorities in each Australian state enforce the COLREGS requirements and can provide a summary of those requirements as they apply in your local area.

Maritime Safety Queensland has a great brochure providing tips for correct installation of navigation lights on recreational water craft.
