Raymarine Thermal Imaging & Navigation

The Raymarine van was on-site, complete with Radar, Augmented Reality & Thermal Imaging displays in real-time, and how these can make a difference to your night-time fishing.
Through these demonstrations, we got to see how these technologies can combine for optimum situational awareness and safe night time Navigation on the water.

Kingfish & Downriggers
When: Wednesday 1st November 2017
A lucky few CH Smith customers attended our Kingfish & Downrigger Masterclass, where they had the opportunity to learn from the best in the biz.
Presenters on the night were pro fishermen Gawaine Blake (Frogleys Pro & Garmin Pro staff) and Shaun Clancy (Cannon and Minn Kota).
Also on hand was Shaun's 1965 Minn Kota CDR Electric Motor, which he'd faithfully restored. Incredible to see how far the range has come along over 80 years of innovation. All in all it was a great night – with everyone walking away better informed and ready to net some kingfish!

Furuno DFF-3D Multi Beam Side Imaging

CH Smith is teaming up with Mark Reid from Furuno Australia for a first look at the Furuno DFF-3D Multi Beam Sonar Box.
With more output power and Furuno's unique use of colour fish finding algorithms, this will quickly become the ultimate weapon.
Mark is possibly the most passionate person you will ever hear speak about Furuno. A true Furuno Fishing Fanatic – if he hasn't been-there, done-that, then it's probably not worth doing!
Catch, Fillet and Cook Gummy Shark

CH Smith Marine teams up with The Australian Seafood Show to provide the ultimate Masterclass on how to catch, fillet and cook the good old gummy shark!
Presenters included Charlie Micallef (Savage Seas Adventures), Con Panayides (seafood retailer and fishmonger), and Pete Hilcke (renowned chef and TV presenter of The Sustainable Seafood Chef and Food To Eat).
Yamashita Egi Night
When: Thursday 21st June 2012
CH Smith teams up with Yamashita Pro Staffer Taiki Natsume to learn about the techniques they use in Japan to land some monster squid!
Taiki will be presenting about a range of tactics including the “drifting” technique, which involves using heavy jigs to fish deep water.
