Garmin have released the new VIRB and VIRB Elite, a pair of cameras perfect for capturing action that can''t be missed!!

The IPX7 waterproof cameras offer super sampling, digital stabilisation and lens distortion correction, as well as burst options and time lapsing so you can still record whatever your movement. They also take 16MP photos if you want to use it as a still camera.

The 1.4" reflective colour display screen allows you to set up shots and also playback your footage using the simple user interface.

The rechargeable li-ion battery provides 3.5 hours battery life for 30fps filming in wide, medium or narrow modes, compared to only 2 hours on other brands. Free VIRB edit desktop software is also included so you can perfect your footage once you have returned from the field.

ANT+ wireless allows you to pair with other Garmin products to record your heart rate, cadence and outside temperature. It can also be controlled with compatible Garmin products like cycling computers, watches and the included VIRB Remote Control.  

The VIRB Elite model also includes GPS capability which tracks and logs information about the time, location and even elevation of the path you take. This, along with the in-built Altimeter and Accelerometer, allow you to georeference the data captured in the field. The Elite also gives you the ability for "smart" recording profiles such as Skiing mode (-15 to 60C) which automatically records runs, then stops recording when you''re waiting in line.

Other recording modes include Tall HD with a large verticle viewing area, Fast HD using widescreen to capture high speed action shots, Economy HD for longer time using less space, Slow Mo HD captures handheld shots with slow motion playback, Super Slow Mo captures in an even higher frame rate and Time Lapse capturing slow moving or long term action.
