Lowrance have released the newest of their VHF radio Range with the Link-5, 25-watt Digital Selective Calling (DSC) fixed mount device.

Boasting all of your basic functions and more, at a low price, the Link-5 device is Class D compliant, enabling global use, programmed with all USA, Canadian and International marine channels.

The adjustable back-lit LCD screen shows your Current Channel and Latitude and >Longitude position, so that you always know where you are, in case of an emergency. The device''s memory retention also logs up to 10 distress calls and 20 individual DSC calls, with DSC control keys including 16/9, WX, 3CH/+/- for quick Channel changing, and CALL, EXIT, SCAN and MENU, for easy and reliable Helm operation.

The microphone on the device, has a built-in speaker which delivers clear audio so you can hear and be heard, regardless of what Noise surrounds you when at sea. With the added privacy of 20 user-programmable names with MMSI, so you can connect with other people, without sharing the information with everyone.

NMEA 0183 compatibility makes for easy connectivity with chartplotters, combining all of your on board devices, enabling them to work together.

Other features include a rotary knob interface for easy Channel changing, menu Navigation and setting control. The Link-5 also boasts an extra-large Channel 16 key, dedicated volume and squelch knobs, selectable Dual and TriWatch modes, local and distant functions, and three user-selectable channels.

The device itself has an ultra rugged waterproof chassis to withstand ocean spray, direct spray, or whatever mother nature throws at you. It is also designed to blend with the colour and styling of the new Lowrance HDS Gen2 multifunction displays, with the easy grip Rubber moulding allowing for secure holding and operation of the many features of the device.
