The new Lowrance HDS Gen2/Gen2 Touch version 3 Software Update provides AutoRouting for Navionics maps, allowing users to enhance the Current charting menus and navigational features. General mapping improvements in Chart selection, Easy Routing and Dynamic Chart and Current upgrades for Jeppesen C-MAP MAX-N, as well as additional Range marks in SpotlightScan.

New Chart Features include:

• AutoRouting which allows users to automatically create the shortest safe route based on selected start and end points using calculations generated from vessel settings (draught, Beam Width and height) and available Chart data, with Navionics Platinum, Nav+ and Navionics Updates Chart (not possible with Navionics Gold Charts).
• With Easy Routing, users can automatically create the shortest safe route based on selected start and end points using calculations generated from vessel settings and available Chart data through Jeppesen C-MAP MAX-N. Routes are shown in Green for safest route, yellow for potentially dangerous and red for potentially unsafe options (not possible with C-MAP MAX-N BDS).
• Chart Selection Menu Update provides easy selection of Cartography by name or brand, allows users to easily select the correct Cartography at a glance.
• Users are also able to simultaneously show Embedded Insight Cartography and CMAP Cartography in a split Chart page for Navionics, Lowrance, Jeppesen C-MAP MAX-N and other third party mapping options.
• Dynamic Tides and Currents allow Jeppesen C-MAP MAX-N Chart to display a graphical representation of Current conditions when Chart is zoomed in beyond the 1mi. scale. Standard Current icons have been replaced by colour-coded arrows indicating the direction and speed of the Current. By selecting an arrow, the modify currents page will open for expanded ebb and flow (not possible with C-MAP MAX-N BDS).
• The SpotlightScan Improvement helps the user to determine the distance on the spotlight screen with indicator marks in 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 increments of the total screen Range, displayed on the SpotlightScan screen.
