304 Stainless Steel is one of the most widely used and oldest of the stainless steels. 304 was originally known as 18/8 which stood for its chromium and nickel content respectively. 304 stainless has no molybdenum content which results in slight tea staining in harsh marine environments. This tarnish can be removed by a wash in a mild acidic solution such as nitric or hydrochloric acid.
