'Distance root mean square' - a measurement used in target detection with >Radar. This is a principle of Circular Error Probability (CEP), which takes the radius of a circle and calculates the 'mean area radius'. DRMS therefore refers to the 'square root of the average squared distance error'. You may also see the term '2DRMS', which is simply twice the distance root mean square.
