Simrad is one of the oldest names in marine electronics, having started in 1947. But today following a large restructure, Simrad and Simrad-Yachting are entirely independent companies. The merger of Simrad-Yachting and Lowrance marine electronics in 2006 ignited what is today the largest marine electronics company in the world; Navico.
