Simrad RS40-B DSC GPS VHF AIS-B Radio brings all the tech and user friendliness the RS40 includes, but upgrades to a Class-B AIS >Transmitter and Receiver to further increase your safety onboard.
It provides all the features for safety and reliability that you could need, with full coverage of Australian, New Zealand, USA and International VHF Marine Channels. The Class-B AIS transmitter/receiver adds extra safety by monitoring nearby AIS equipped vessels making it easier to navigate crowded harbours and other waterways with heavy traffic.
- Display: Large 3" backlit High Resolution screen, 256 x 160 Pixels, Screen Size 64.1mmW x 42.8mmH
- Class D (with dual receive) DSC fixed mount VHF Transceiver
- GPS 4 ways - integrated Receiver and face plate Antenna, SMA connector on rear, NMEA0183 and NMEA200 - ensures every chance you will get a GPS Fix in an emergency. NOTE: AIS regulations prohibit GPS data input from other GPS networked antennas, BUT the supplied GPS-500 Antenna can be used a GPS source for other products for both NMEA0183 and NMEA2000.
- New intuitive user interface makes use hassle free
- HS40 Wireless handset option duplicates radio display and controls to give total freedom on your vessel. With multiple handsets connected (2 maximum), the RS40 doubles as a handy on-board intercom.
- Dual Channel AIS transmitter/receiver allows communication with nearby AIS equipped vessels and the information obtained can be shown on screen or overlaid on your Chart or >Radar screen through a linked compatible MFD
- AIS information updates every 30 seconds and includes:
- Speed over Ground
- Course over ground
- Vessel Name
- Vessel Callsign
- MMSI
- Vessel dimensions
- Also includes a 'silent mode' for when you're fishing and don't want everyone to know where you are, which is easily switched off as you re-enter trafficked zones
- NMEA2000 (requires network kit option) and NMEA 0183 Connectivity allowing GPS information via connected chartplotter and not needing an extra Antenna if you have one in the network already
- Remote microphone has 6 buttons for easy use and can be connected at the front or back and with an optional extension cable can be mounted quite a distance away, for example allowing you to overhead mount the radio with just the mic on your dash
- Track your Buddy allows you to track up to 5 friends (when connected to compatible B&G MFD)
- Man Overboard function
- PA/Hailer 30w Horn with Listen back (option) & automatic fog signals
- Transmitter power 25 Watt/1 Watt. Current Drain: 6amp@25w Transmit, 450mA Standby (receive)
- Removable bezel Trim makes front mounting very easy
- NOTE: Two VHF antennas required, one for VHF and one for AIS, or one VHF Antenna with a NSPL500 splitter option.
